New and Improved
NEF Grants Program
We have heard feedback from educators and grant applicants
and made improvements to our NEF Grants
Program.
Many educators asked to keep the grant program “teacher-directed” without
imposing a specific grant topic. We’ve
done that.
Many educators asked to simplify the application form and
requirements. We’ve done that.
NEF now awards grants twice a year. For the 2011-2012 year,
the first round of applications is due October 28, 2011,
and the second round of applications is due February
17, 2012. The forms are the same whether you are applying
for a $100 idea or a $10,000 idea. Grant applications
will be evaluated by a committee comprising NEF Board
members and other members of the community. Successful
applicants will be informed within eight weeks of the
submission deadline.
Please consider applying for an NEF grant this year. We
hope to have participation from all grade levels, all subject
areas, and all Natick schools. You can email questions

for a grant from the Metrowest Community Health
Care Foundation.
Grants Application
Overview
Purpose and Funding Scope
To support our teachers, staff, and students with resources
that cannot be funded through ordinary budgetary channels.
To encourage programs that enhance and enrich the curriculum.
Priority will be given to team and group proposals. Grant
recipients will be asked to share the results with NEF.
Instructions
- Complete General Information section and attach it
as your cover page (see application forms below).
- Following the Project Description and Selection section,
submit a typed document with all of the requested information.
- Please review the Evaluation Criteria to guide your
proposal writing.

Deadlines
Submit all applications with the requested information

the following dates: October 28, 2011
or February 17, 2012. Grant awards will be made within
