Math Video Kit

To fund the purchase of a Math Video Kit, "Mr. Marfil's Last Will and Testament", to promote group discussion, critical thinking, and problem solving.

Project Connect

Project Connect will enable teachers from grade 1, 5, and 6 at Kennedy, Johnson and Ben-Hem to collaborate on various projects through the use of modems and computer software.

Bird Awareness

The Bird Awareness program includes the purchase of feeders, binoculars, and bird identification books. Students will be able to attract, observe, and identify local species of birds, and develop an interest in bird watching and an appreciation of nature.

Math in Art
Cathy O'Brien, and Susan Getty, teachers at Ben-Hem
A partnership of students in grade 1 and 4 to work together on a year long partnership focusing on Math in Art - A Discovery of Shapes, Patterns, and Designs.

Whole Language Study Group
Lynne Hunt and Susan Getty, with collaboration of the Natick Whole Language Study Group
Focus on writing in the primary grade. In addition to observing children writing, examining and evaluating their work, the teachers will purchase reference materials and will meet with professional consultants.

Home/School Partnership in Reading
Lynne Grimaldi and Nancy VanTassel, in collaboration with Alma Maranian, Anna Hayes, and Margaret Lydon, grade 1 teachers at Memorial
Tapes, booklets and activity cards will encourage support of the reading curriculum through home involvement.

Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary Collaboration
Anne Starek, Memorial School
For a long-term cooperative program with the Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary for students in grades K-4 to participate in environmental science activities. The program includes field experiences, classroom and school yard activities.
